Motion Picture Flims produced by the Edinboro State College Film Unit  

All these films but the last one were created by the Edinboro State College Film Unit between 1968 and 1978. They are part of the Faculty Special Collections and held in the library's Media Room. This list was compiled by Ginger Bollinger, July 2010.

Give Me Liberty or Give Me a Break

          8:19 minutes – color – 16 mm

A satirical look at some of the events taking place during the American Revolution.  The film focuses on the events leading to the Declaration of Independence and includes characters like Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, Nathan Hale and Ethan Allen.  It also pokes fun at the Boston Tea Party. The film utilizes many animation techniques including cutout animation, cell animation and silhouette animation.

Ooze

An animated film utilizing many techniques including cut out animation, cell animation and in-the-camera matting.  “Ooze” can best be described as an animated conglomeration of effect and mayhem centered around alien control.

          10:20 minutes – black & white – 16 mm

The film is based on the second movement of Beethoven’s sonata for violoncello and piano, op.5, no.2 as it is interpreted by two musicians and a dancer.  Documentary in nature, the film tries to show the amount of skill and artistry needed to perform a classical piece on stage.
